Times are tough, and CEYA, like many other non-profits is struggling to keep it’s head above water. If you can help, any little amount makes a big difference:
NOTE that CEYA is now a Public Benefit Organisation – PBO number: 930031601. Donate to us, and get tax cuts.
We thank our supporters!
We wish we could do everything we do without needing to request support, but since that is a fanciful wish, here are some ways in which you can support CEYA (financial and otherwise):
1. Support a child.
For R150 a month (21 USD/16 EUR) or R1800 (252 USD/ 189 EUR) a year you can ensure that one child has access to capoeira classes and the healthy food, the uniform and the support that comes with being part of a community capoeira group. Overseas donations can be made by credit card through the Greater Good website (www.greatergood.co.za). Search “Capoeira Educational Youth Association” on the site and click on the “Donate to this cause!” button. Alternatively, donations can be made directly into the CEYA bank account:
Bank: Nedbank
Account Name: Capoeira Educational Youth Association
Account Number: 1048072347
Account type: cheque
Branch Code: 104809
International code: nedszajj
If you would prefer making a once off donation, R160 covers the cost of one capoeira uniform. We have lots of committed children who deserve uniforms currently waiting to receive them.
2. Support a Community Group
It costs only R 6,727 per month, or R80,730 per year per year to fully support a Community Capoeira group. This amount covers classes, clothing and food for 20 hungry after-class stomachs, and the essential organisational running costs for the group. CEYA is currently seeking support for Langa, Abbotsdale and Manenberg for 2011.
In appreciation support of a Community Group for one year CEYA will:
· Print the donor’s logo on the participating children’s uniform
· Link the donor website to the CEYA website
· Include the donor name in the community group name e.g *donor name* Community Capoeira- *Community name*
· Afford the sponsor media coverage whether print, radio or TV for that group
3. Donate food
Not all, but a lot of the children who particpate in our classes have grumbling-hungry tummies during and after class. We try to provide each community group with a healthy snack at after each class and are looking to create partnerships with shops, or distributers of healthy snacks so that we can ensure this does happen.
Please contact Anna if you are interested in supporting and developing any kind of partnership with CEYA: annaversfeld@gmail.com. If you do make a donation, please also drop us an email so that we know who it is from, and what it is for.
